BABIES BROOKE AND JACKSON

August 2006: They're here! Chuck and Joannie's sweet bundles of joy have arrived. Brooke Della was born on August 12 at 2:31 p.m. followed one minute later by her brother Jackson Herbert.  They were delivered via caesarean section by Dr. Madsen to two ecstatic parents and a waiting room full of eager family members.  Jackson and Brooke arrived earlier than expected, at 36 weeks and two days, and thus had to spend two weeks in the hospital nursery learning to eat (you'll notice a feeding tube in many of the photos.)  Fortunately both babies were born perfectly healthy and could focus on resting and growing throughout their hospital stay.  Enjoy the pictures below of the babies' first two weeks of life.

August 2007:  These are miscellaneous pictures from the past year, not necessarily in chronological order.  Our plan was to update this site regularly and put cute captions with each picture, but somehow our days, nights and evenings were filled with more pressing matters like caring for two babies at once...must we say more?

August 2007 continued:  It's hard to believe that the babies are already over a year old!  In some ways the past year seems like such a blur (especially those first few months) but it's amazing how fast time goes.  Not only do Jackson and Brooke look like totally different babies, it's been so much fun to observe their personalities changing and becoming more defined.  Both of them are easy going, happy babies (yay!) and our days are filled with lots of ENERGETIC fun.

We had a wondeful summer!
September 2007: We sure are busy these days!!!!  Our goal in life is to play, play, play, from early morning until bedtime.  Fortunately for our mom, we still nap twice a day so she gets a little bit of "down time."  However,  the term "down time" sure has changed ! Pre-babies definition: watching movies, reading books, shopping, going out to eat, relaxing.  Post-babies defn:  showering, cleaning house, prepping food, cleaning up kitchen, doing laundry, picking up toys, and the list goes on!  The trade off is worth it though because we are just so darn cute and TONS OF FUN!!!!!!!

Trying out our new fall fashions!

September 2007 cont: Did you know that we love to climb?????  Yes, climbing, exploring, pulling everything out of cupboards and off of shelves or tables, and getting into mischief whenever possible is great!  We love to taunt Mommy and Daddy by trying our same tricks day after day even when they tell us "No!" about some things (like trying to get to the computer and any/all electrical items in sight with cords and outlets being an added bonus!) They always foil our plans, though, with plug covers and other safety devices.  Darn them!   Also, you can probably tell this from the pictures, but we love to eat!!!!  If you're wondering where we are in the last two pictures, we're at school!  That was our first day of "Mommy and Me" class through the Bellingham Technical College.  (Yes, we're in college already...ha ha!)   We had a blast!!!!

MORE TO COME!
