In the fall of 1993, Chuck Legoe decided it was time for him to open his own business. Following up on a tip from a fellow shop owner in December, Chuck found a sign on the bay door of Ray's Automotive that said "Shop for Rent." Ray had health problems that had forced him to retire, so he was happy to strike up a deal. Chuck spent many hours cleaning and painting prior to his March 1st opening date. The shop is a former gas station that stopped pumping gas in October of 1993. Ray's wife, Barb, rented Ryder trucks from the shop and continued to share the office for about a year. After Ray passed away in 1995, the old fuel tanks were pulled and Barbara sold the building and property to Chuck. Since day one, Chuck has provided exceptional service. He is committed to excellence in his work and with his employees.
